eSignet capacity and numbers

Hello MOSIP San,

I have a question around number of esignet servers that can be used for various sectoral needs. Let us say we need to service many sectors such as health, election, banking, insurance, transport, how can I decide how many eSignet servers should I plan for ? Would it be one eSignet only or separate eSignet for separate functions ?

Also, is there any guideline that can be given regarding what should be the capacity of the servers in the data center ? I don’t see anything in MOSIP documents.

Hi @peterpascal,

Welcome to the Community!

The number of eSignet instances you’ll need depends on your use case:

  • Single ID system for all functions: One eSignet instance will be sufficient.
  • Different ID systems for each function: You’ll need a separate eSignet instance for each ID system.

In short, you require one eSignet instance per ID system.

For the guidelines on eSignet server capacity, we will get back to you shortly.

Thanks & Regards
Team MOSIP

Hello @rachiksharma San,

Yes, we will have multiple use cases and it may expand based on government policies. Are you saying that every time when there is a new use case, we need to deploy a new instance of eSignet ? That would be difficult to convince the authorities and approvals would take its own time.

Can’t an eSignet service handle multiple ID backends and route the requests based on the requesting partner ?

Deploying multiple eSignet services won’t be viable.
