Hi! Per the title, what is the “official” or supported way to query and extract personal records from MOSIP?
Which is the correct API to get the list of people, given a set of filters (e.g., born in a specific year), with their personal name and address?
Is retrieving the biometric data anonymously for statistical analysis and research purposes possible?
Dear @Tommaso_Doninelli ,
Thank you for reachinng out, Let me ask one of our expert collegues to respond to your query here.
Best Regards
Team MOSIP
Dear @Tommaso_Doninelli,
MOSIP is built with robust data security protocols, ensuring that extracting personal records, particularly biometric data, is not possible. Only the respective residents, upon successful login, can access their own personal details.
However, in recognition of the need for statistical analysis, MOSIP offers a feature called ‘Anonymous Profiling.’ This feature allows for the profiling of registered individuals without compromising their privacy or revealing personal identifiers. For further details on how this feature works, please refer to the documentation below:

Thanks for the reply!
But how can we build a national registry on top of Mosip with this limitation? What if we need to compile electoral rolls or registers?
Maybe with the integration with OpenCRVS?
Hey @Tommaso_Doninelli ,
I need some clarification on what is the use case here you are trying to address. if you can explain on that we will be able to help here. when you refer to national registry is it an national id platform you already posses which you want to migrate to MOSIP? or is it a functional registries such as birth registry or electoral registry?
We’re trying to build all the systems on top of MOSIP. We’re starting with nothing, no existing registration system is in place.
The plan was to use mosip as the national ID collector, and to start register person with it. Then, we would like to use the registered data as a reference for the other services, as marital registry, electoral registry, and so on
@Tommaso_Doninelli
In that case you can opt for integrating the registries with MOSIP, a similar approach as OpenCRVs.
