We are excited to announce the release of Inji Wallet (Mobile) v0.17.0 :tada:, a developer-focused milestone bringing enriched OpenID4VP capabilities, improved cross-platform support, and key enhancements in security, performance, and user experience across both Android and iOS platforms.

What’s New in v0.17.0

Key Highlights

  • Cross-Device OpenID4VP Support: Enhanced mDL/mDoc verification flow for secure cross-device presentations.
  • Same-Device OpenID4VP + W3C VC: Support for JSON-LD credentials with secure sharing flows and selfie validation.
  • Improved Error Handling: Robust error flows for credential verification and sharing.
  • UI + UX Improvements: Fixes for crashes, UI alignment, and new flows for a smoother user experience.
  • Kotlin Verifier SDK: ECC K1 key-based VC verification support for OpenID ecosystems.
  • PixelPass KMP Support: Unified Kotlin module for QR code generation on both Android & iOS.
  • WLA Deep Linking on iOS: Launch Inji Wallet via deep links for seamless login and verification.
  • Display Profile Image Only When Valid: Profile image shown only when biometric (photo) is present in VC.

Technical Improvements

  • Wallet Metadata Exposure: POST /request_uri support with detailed wallet metadata (algorithms, endpoints, response types).
  • OpenIDVP Proof Enhancements: Canonicalization, UUID handling, and empty holder field handling.
  • JWT Direct Post Support: Conformant support in both Android and iOS wallets.
  • VCI Client Improvements: Broader support for VC Data Model 1.1 claims structures.
  • Test Coverage Boost: >80% test coverage in PixelPass QR code logic for stability.

Bug Fixes

Key issues resolved include:

  • Crashes during QR scan, camera flip, and credential sharing.
  • Metadata handling inconsistencies.
  • UI glitches on intro sliders and Help page links.
  • Sharing delays and invalid responses.
  • iOS-specific redirect and rendering issues.
