Release Announcement: eSignet v2.0.0 is here!

Dear MOSIP Community,

We’re excited to announce the release eSignet v2.0.0 — a major milestone that marks the migration of eSignet’s core engine from Java to Go, built on the ThunderID engine. This release carries forward eSignet (Java) v1.8.0’s core authentication capabilities to the new Go-based engine.

Major Highlights

  1. Go-Based Core Engine — rebuilt on Go, using the ThunderID engine.

  2. Flow-Graph Driven Authentication — login and consent screens now render from a declarative flow graph.

  3. Feature Parity with eSignet v1.8.0 — authentication flows and standards compliance are unchanged for end users and integrators.

  4. Performance and Scalability — the Go-based engine delivers better throughput than the Java version at similar or lower resource usage.

  5. New eSignet (Go) Documentation — a complete documentation set covering architecture, the developer guide, and integration is now available.

  6. Reference Plugin Implementations Retained — Mock, MOSIP, and Sunbird plugins all carry forward unchanged.

:warning: Note: This release includes a couple of breaking changes for anyone upgrading from the Java version — please review the Breaking Changes section of the release notes before you upgrade.

To explore all the features, breaking changes, and known issues in detail, please refer to the full release notes. Additionally, you can refer here for in-depth documentation on eSignet.
