Release Announcement: eSignet v1.7.0 is here!

Dear MOSIP Community,

We are delighted to announce the release of eSignet v1.7.0 :tada: — a significant upgrade that delivers major advancements in security, enhanced flexibility in user interactions, and improved deployment efficiency. This release brings comprehensive support for the FAPI 2.0 Security Profile, smarter schema-driven UI capabilities, and multiple backend improvements, all while remaining fully backward compatible with existing authentication flows.

:rocket: Major Highlights

Support for FAPI 2.0 Security Profile
eSignet now implements key industry-standard RFCs required for FAPI 2.0 security profile compliance, strengthening security and interoperability across integrations:

  • Pushed Authorization Requests (PAR): A new endpoint ensures secure, tamper-resistant authorization requests.
  • Demonstration of Proof of Possession (DPoP): Adds sender-constrained access tokens to protect against replay attacks.
  • Authorization Server Issuer Identification: Enhances trust and protocol clarity with issuer identifier in redirect URI.

Important

FAPI 2.0 enforcement is client-configurable. Clients opting not to enable it will continue to operate without any flow changes.

Dynamic Schema-Driven Signup UI
The Signup UI now supports dynamic registration form driven by UI schema using a JSON form-builder, making registration flows more flexible, maintainable, and easier to configure.

Dynamic Schema-Driven KBI Authentication UI
KBI authentication UI is now fully configurable and dynamic based on the UI schema, improving consistency and flexibility.

:tools: Technical & Other Enhancements

  • Improved Deployment Scripts: Streamlined scripts reduce configuration overhead and simplify deployments across environments.
  • Bug Fixes: Numerous issues from the previous release have been resolved to improve stability, performance, and environment readiness.
