Upcoming Release of Inji Web & Inji Verify v0.10.0

Dear Community User,

We are excited :slightly_smiling_face: to announce the upcoming release of Inji Verify and Inji Web v0.10.0, which brings several new features and enhancements to improve the user experience and streamline credential verification processes.

Online Sharing Using OpenID4VP Standards:

To address the problem of dense QR Codes that are difficult to scan, the new release introduces:

  • Embedded URLs in QR Codes: The QR Code will now contain a URL pointing to the VC storage, facilitating easier scanning and sharing.
  • Config-Based Approach: QR Code content can be configured per issuer and credential type, allowing flexibility between URL or JSON VC formats.
  • Cross-Device Sharing: Users can share VCs by scanning QR Codes from physical or digital copies using the Inji Verify portal.

Key Features and Enhancements:

Inji Verify:

  • OVP Integration: QR Code generation is now configurable for Verifiable Credentials (VC) or Verifiable Presentations (VP).
  • Enhanced Error Handling: Improved mechanisms for detecting and addressing issues during the verification process.
  • Docker Compose Support: Simplified deployment using Docker Compose for streamlined setup and management.

Inji Web:

  • OVP Integration: Similar QR Code configuration for VP, enabling flexible and secure credential presentation.
  • Persistent Storage: Integration with Durian storage for reliable and persistent credential storage.
  • Enhanced Error Handling: Added layers of error management to ensure smoother operations.
  • Draft 13 Changes for OpenID4VCI: Implemented updates based on the latest Draft 13 specifications for OpenID4VCI.

QR Code Generation Flow in Inji Web:

  1. User Interaction: The User opens the Inji Web portal and selects the issuer and credential type.
  2. Keypair Generation: Mimoto generates a keypair and interacts with the authorization layer.
  3. Token Exchange: Inji Web exchanges the auth code for an access token.
  4. VC Retrieval: Inji Web retrieves the VC from the issuer and stores it in Durian via data share-service integration.
  5. QR Code Generation: A QR Code is generated using the URL returned from the data share-service.
  6. PDF Generation: A PDF file with the VC details and QR Code is generated and sent back to the Inji Web client.

Additional Functionalities:

  • Inji Web to Datashare Storage Integration: Enables VC storage within Inji Web, ensuring secure and persistent access.
  • QR Code Content: Now includes authorization requests with resource URIs for enhanced verification.
  • Inji Verify Enhancements: Improved QR Code scanning, with the client ID and redirect URI support for seamless integration with Inji Web.

We encourage everyone to explore these new features and improvements as we continue to enhance the capabilities of Inji Verify and Inji Web. Stay tuned for the official release notes and further updates.

Currently, this is in the development phase and will soon be available for community users.
